JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate should have a good eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
- Set up machines, adjust settings, and select the appropriate cutting programs.
- Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
- Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor cutting speeds, gas flow, and torch alignment for optimal performance.
- Handle raw materials, finished parts, and scrap safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate production records and follow job tracking systems.
- Follow safety protocols, including PPE usage, fire prevention, and safe material handling.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality inspectors to meet production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices
